  • Reference Test

The purpose of the Reference Test is to calibrate your computer's sound system against the normal hearing level. The person who is doing this test must have a normal hearing.

A pure tone at 1000 Hz (click to hear a sample) will be played to the right ear. Indicate whether you can hear the tone by clicking the "Yes" button if you can, the "No" button otherwise. You will be asked to do this several times as the tone is made louder or softer.

When the test has accumulated enough data, it will ask you to repeat this procedure at 500 Hz, and then at 250 Hz, 2000 Hz and 4000 Hz. After this, the same series of tests will be repeated with the left ear.

    Please use Microsoft Internet Explorer

If this is your first time to do the test, please download sound files.

When you have read all instructions and downloaded sound files, you may
    Start the test
