  • General Instructions

This patented test determines hearing loss in reference to a normal hearing listener. The accuracy of this test could be influenced by your reference subject and other factors. We suggest contacting your audiologist or doctor for complete evaluation.

    You need to:
    1. Have a set of headphones connected to the sound card in your computer.
    2. Download sound files from our server.
    3. Have a relative or friend do a Reference Test first to set up the reference level.
    4. Do a Hearing Test yourself.
    5. Our program will automatically manage the test and then find and report your hearing in both intuitive and professional formats. The report will look like the picture to the right.

Comment: for a conversation in quiet, you could lose up to
67% of speech information at your right ear, and up to
39% of speech information at the left.
The accuracy of the test is limited. Please see your audiologist or doctor for further advice.

In order to get an accurate result, please:
    1. Set your sound card volume to the maximum level.
    2. Set your headphone volume, if equipped, to the maximum level.
    3. Do NOT change the volume settings during the test.
    4. Confirm the location of the right channel by the link next. You should hear a sound in your RIGHT ear. Proceed to Right Channel Confirmation.
    5. Do NOT swap headphone earpieces or speakers during the test. The program will automatically control the ear to which sound is played.

    Please use Microsoft Internet Explorer

If this is your first time to do the test, please download sound files.

When you have read all instructions and downloaded sound files, you may
    Start the test
